Satellite Frequency Change – Australia & New Zealand

This notice only applies to those viewers watching EWTN via the Optus Satellite service.

Effective Tuesday, January 22, 2008, EWTN will be located on a new frequency on the Optus satellite service.  You will need to retune your set-top box to the new frequency.  Because GlobeCast has created a special “home” frequency for the new satellite,  you have the option of completing this now or waiting until January 22.

Below are the details for both options:

Retuning before January 22:
Simply complete a rescan of your set-top-box and the new home frequency will be installed on your receiver.  Additionally, you will then need to complete a refresh (rescan) of the receiver on January 22 (once the services are available in their new off-air location) in order to acquire the new satellite frequencies.

Retuning on or after January 22:
When you tune to EWTN, you will see that the set-top-box displays “searching for signal”.  You will then have to complete the following procedures to retune your set-top-box:

1. If you did not rescan before January 22, 2008 you must manually enter the following technical details to your STB: Freq 12,644  GHz, Symbol rate 22,500, Pol Vertical, FEC ¾

2.   NETWORK SEARCH MUST BE SET TO “ON.

3.  New channels will then load up into your Set Top Box.

4.  Using the remote control, you must scroll up ALL the Channels on the STB until finding your desired channel.

5.  Post scanning, the STB may store the previous list of channels in their current channel position with the new channel list added to it - this can be rearranged using organizing services or channel list options on the STB (refer to STB manual to do this).
