Our Prayer in This Time of Need
Almighty God, with tears and distress at the devastation caused by the recent tornados, we turn to You our provident Father. In You we place our hope and our trust - and we will not be disappointed. We humbly ask You to console those who have lost loved ones and those who have lost their homes; to send angels to help the recovery efforts; and to grant eternal rest to those who have died. Give us graces of repentance and conversion and stir up in the hearts of all fraternal charity. Heavenly Father, turn this time of sharing in Your Son's Passion, into a time of new life in Him. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
EWTN's Official Statement

Many of us in the EWTN family living in Alabama watched our friends and neighbors lose everything they had in the destructive tornados that hit the southeastern United States on April 27, 2011. While EWTN was spared from damage, the region was devastated. We grieve the loss of life and suffering that the storms caused.

As the area recovers, EWTN and its employees have joined in both prayer and action with Bishop Robert Baker and the Diocese of Birmingham to help in the recovery. The Network has offered its support to the relief efforts and our employees are volunteering their time to directly assist people in some of the hardest hit communities.

We are grateful for your continued prayers and assistance to the Diocesan relief efforts. Your support gives all of us the strength to answer this call to serve those in need at this difficult time. God bless you.
