Discussion of the temptations of Jesus in the wilderness concludes with the final test of Christ, who chooses to trust in God, rather than putting him to the test. Tempted in every way, Jesus is without sin, showing the world that he is the compassionate, trustworthy High Priest who is able to atone for sins.
 
Episode 15 - The Inaugural Speech of Jesus in Nazareth
Jesus begins his ministry by proclaiming that he fulfills the prophecy contained in the prophet Isaiah, that he would bring the Lord's year of favor, culminating in his Passion, death and resurrection. Faith is what Christ expects in return for his offering of himself to the world, so that he may lead others into his kingdom.
 
Episode 16 - Jesus' Ministry in Capernaum
Jesus shows his spiritual authority in Capernaum by delivering a human being from captivity to the devil. Jesus shows his superiority of power over evil and also every human infirmity, as he heals Peter's mother-in-law and all those who suffered. He proclaims the Good News of freedom through belief in him as the Son of God.
 
Episode 17 - Proclamation of the Christian Way of Life
Jesus' mission is distinguished from all others by his call of disciples, especially Peter; miracles of healing and forgiveness; call of sinners to spiritual discipline; authority over the Sabbath; and proclamation of the Christian way of life. Christ gives the people vision and understanding so that they obtain the imperishable light of God's law for living.
 
Episode 18 - The Fisherman's Response to the Call of Jesus
Jesus teaches his disciples, especially Peter, to trust God in order to have a much deeper purpose in life: to draw souls to God. Peter in his sinfulness and human limitation at first recoils from the divine majesty, but regroups in faith so as to leave everything and follow him.

Jesus heals physical leprosy and seeks to cure the spiritual leprosy afflicting the people of his time, by leading them into the saving knowledge of his divinity. In healing the paralytic, Jesus shows his power as God to forgive sins.

In the calling of Matthew the tax collector, Jesus shows mercy to sinners. Those who believe in Christ are given access to his presence, and thus even his Eucharistic power to change their lives.
