SEARCH AND RESCUE Catholic Apologist Patrick Madrid gives tips on how to bring non-Catholics into the Church and bring fallen-away Catholics back into the Church. He suggests prayers, Bible verses, and other resources that will help in all apologetical and evangelical endeavors. Evangelization should never be a Search and Destroy mission--it should be a Search and Rescue mission. PATRICK MADRID is the publisher of Envoy Magazine, a leading journal of
Catholic apologetics and evangelization. His books include Search and
Rescue, Pope Fiction, Where Is That In the Bible?, and Why Is That In
Tradition?, and the multi-volume Surprised by Truth series, which he
contributed to and edited.

Patrick Madrid provides some practical advice for overcoming our fear and courageously sharing our faith with others. Don't Grow Discouraged - Patience is an essential virtue when it comes to reaching out to others in a "search and rescue" mission. The saints are wonderful examples of patience in the face of adversity. We should imitate them in our day-to-day encounters with family and friends. Let God Do The Heavy Lifting - There are many crucial elements necessary for a successful "search and rescue" mission. However, in order to step forward as an apostle one must not be hindered by inner weaknesses and defects. We must learn to cultivate the virtues. Even if our efforts are modest and simple they are valuable in God's eyes. |
