We left New York, a city of excitement and mystery. Who would have thought that within a few months the
fire of terrorism would strike the metropolis?
We landed in a pristine town, at the foot of the Pyrenees Mountains, where the snow was melting and the river was high.
We were about to dive into a sea of authenticity, into a world that had nothing to hide; a world that knew its identity and knew God more than it knew the rich. It was a world of the sick and aging. And it became a cleansing place for the soul, along with an added dose of humility.
