CHRIST IN THE CITY:
Fr. George Rutler talks about the
possibilities of genuinely encountering the living Christ today as a
still-point or anchor planted right in the midst of a very fast-paced city
life. Fr Rutler's reflections direct viewers' heavenward, so that they
discover that the spiritual realm is vast, immense, and far more real than
anything the secular City can offer. The practical relevance of
contemplating the things of God is the development of heroic virtue. Lives
of personal holiness, such as that of Christ and his saints, among them
St. Thomas More and St. Pio of Pietrelcina, reflect the beauty of the
Christian life, the joys of living according to conscience and conviction,
resulting in a legacy of glorious culture.
Christ in the City was filmed at Fr.
Rutler's parish, The Church of Our Saviour in New York City.
