look to God for help through the inspiration of the many widowed saints.

Several options are available for widows for leading an active life in

adopt a formal or informal role in service to others.

Consecrated widows played an important role of service in the early
Church and they are once again becoming prominent today. Ronda Chervin
and Anne Lassiter welcome Sr. Elizabeth Seton who explains what inspired
her to found the Consecrated Widows of the Good Shepherd.
13: Mary, Exalted Widow
We rarely think of the Blessed Virgin as being a widow even though St.
Joseph died before Our Lord’s public ministry. Ronda Chervin and Anne
Lassiter discuss how Mary provides the perfect example for widows as
they follow God’s will for their lives.
