Accommodations

Many local hotels offer special rates for pilgrims visiting the Shrine and EWTN. Since it takes approximately one hour to travel between the Shrine and the Network, you may wish to plan on spending the days that you visit the Shrine at a hotel or guest house in the Hanceville/Cullman area, and when visiting EWTN at a hotel in the Irondale/Birmingham area. Be sure to identify yourself as a pilgrim to receive our special rates. Check out local lodging.

Neither the Shrine nor EWTN can accommodate overnight guests in motor homes. Please check local campsites.

Meals

No food services are available on the grounds of the Shrine or EWTN. Picnic tables, vending machines and indoor facilities are available for those individuals who wish to bring a picnic lunch. There are also a variety of restaurants in the Irondale and Hanceville areas. Groups may arrange for catered meals to be delivered to the Shrine or EWTN.

A list of caterers is included in the downloadable packet for your convenience.

Shuttles

Some hotels in the EWTN area have shuttle service to EWTN and to the Birmingham International Airport. There is, however, no shuttle service to the Shrine.

Transportation

If you do not prefer to drive to Alabama, you may fly into the Birmingham International Airport, come on the Amtrak train, or use the Greyhound Bus service. You will need to set up your own transportation from these terminals.

Activities

A pilgrimage to the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament provides a place for prayer and quiet contemplation- pilgrims may attend Mass and silently join the Nuns as they pray the Liturgy of the Hours throughout the day, receive the Sacrament of Confession, and spend time in private Adoration.

EWTN offers opportunities to attend a
televised Mass with the Friars, spend time in Eucharistic Adoration, receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation, enjoy the unique experience of a Live Show and tour EWTN's facilities. You may even see some of your favorite EWTN hosts.

At both the Shrine and EWTN, advance arrangements must be made for groups of
10 or more (adults or teens) to schedule Catechetical or Spiritual Talks, and Healing Services.

Visit our gift shops at both the Shrine
and EWTN.
