1. Note on Personal
Ordinariates for Anglicans Entering the Catholic Church - Vatican
Cardinal William Joseph Levada, Prefect of the Congregation for
the Doctrine of the Faith, on 20 October 2009, announced a forthcoming
Apostolic Constitution on Personal Ordinariates for Anglicans wishing to
enter the Catholic Church. A joint statement by Archbishop Vincent
Gerard Nichols of Westminster and His Grace Dr Rowan Williams,
Archbishop of Canterbury is appended.
Anglicanorum Coetibus - Pope Benedict XVI
The promised Apostolic Constitution on Personal
Ordinariates for Anglicans was published 9 November 2009. It provides a
canonical structure which allows groups of Anglicans to enter full
communion with the Catholic Church while preserving elements of their
spiritual and liturgical patrimony.
Complementary Norms for the
Apostolic Constitution Anglicanorum Coetibus -
Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith
With the Apostolic Constitution Anglicanorum Coetibus,
additional norms were published, which explain how nongeographical
ordinariates, established for former Anglicans, are to relate to
geographical dioceses, as well as who may belong to these ordinariates,
or be ordained to them.
