Decree on Same-Sex Marriage

In a Decree dated 18 October 2011, made public 8 November, Archbishop Dolan of New York prohibited clergy and church employees from taking part in the solemnization of civil same-sex "marriages," made legal in New York on 24 July 2011. Nor may the property and facilities of the Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of New York be used for such events.
