Cardinal Armand Gaétan Razafindratandra was born in Ambohimalaza, Madagascar, on August 7, 1925. He was ordained a priest on July 27, 1954. On July 2, 1978, he was ordained bishop of Mahajanga. He was appointed archbishop of Antananarivo on February 3, 1994, and installed on May 15, 1994. He was created a cardinal on November 26, 1994. His titular church is Sts. Sylvester and Martin ai Monti. He is Archbishop emeritus of Antananarivo and apostolic administrator of Miarinarivo. He serves in the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples and the Council for the Laity. |
