EWTN has now moved all of its networks to digital feeds on a single location: Galaxy 15, Transponder 5. The important information provided below should assist you in tuning to any of our digital networks. Our signals are still in the clear, but we ask you to notify us if you add any of these networks to your lineup at G15@ewtn.com. Thank you for making EWTN available to your subscribers!

2. Does EWTN recommend a particular brand or model of digital receiver?
EWTN does not recommend a particular brand of digital receiver. However, we use the Cisco (Scientific Atlanta) Power-Vu system to digitally encode our signal. Since our signal is in the clear (not encrypted), affiliates have a greater variety of IRDs (Integrated Receiver Decoders) from which to select; any digital receiver that is DVB-S compliant and capable of receiving an MPEG -2 signal, should be capable of receiving and decoding our signal. The most widely used Cisco IRDs are: Cisco (Scientific Atlanta) D9850 for DVB-S/MPEG-2 signals and Cisco (Scientific Atlanta) D9854 for DVB-S2/MPEG-4 signals. Please note that the Cisco (Scientific Atlanta) D9854 will receive both DVB-S/MPEG-2 and DVB-S2/MPEG-4 signals, as well as handle both SD and HD.
If you have a Cisco (Scientific Atlanta) receiver and need help, you can call our Affiliate Engineering Hotline. If your system uses another brand, we suggest that you call the manufacturer for technical assistance.
