| Heavenly Father, In this season of Mercy we pray for our world and especially for the unborn, newborns, the infirm of body or of mind, the disabled and the aged ― all who are potential victims of the culture of death. Watch over them with Your loving care and protect both their human dignity and their lives. We beseech You, Lord, grant rest to the innocent victims of the culture of death. In a special way give repose to the soul of Terri Schiavo. As she has endured sorrow and trial in this life, give her eternal joy in Your presence. Console and give peace to her family, and to the many defenders of life who came to her aid with prayers, words of support and protests. May their example of fidelity, and Terri's merciless death, awaken the conscience of mankind to the evil that is growing among us. Grant to government, legislative and judicial officials in every nation, the light and courage to defend life from conception to natural death, so that the life and dignity of every human being will be respected always.
