| JUBILEE,
TIME FOR EVANGELIZATION, RECONCILIATION AND CELEBRATION,
SAYS US BISHOP
|
Washington,
22 (NE) "This Christmas will be truly unique as together
we observe the two thousandth anniversary of Christ's Birth
in Bethlehem and begin to celebrate the Year of the Great Jubilee",
wrote Bishop Paul S. Loverde of Arlington. Addressing faithful
in his Christmas message published in the Catholic Herald's
latest issue, the Prelate highlighted Pope John Paul II'
special insistence to not forget the general theme of this Holy
Year: "Open Wide the Doors to Christ: Evangelize, Reconcile
and Celebrate!"
"May we allow His Presence to permeate us so completely
that the witness of our lives will make clear the Good
News of His love and foster reconciliation and unity", encouraged
as well Arlington's Bishop. "May Christmas 1999 be for
everyone a feast filled with light, the prelude to an especially
deep experience of grace and divine mercy".
