BRITAIN'S NATIONAL JUBILEE MASS
LONDON (CWNews.com) - More than 12,000 Catholics from across England & Wales
today celebrated the 2,000th anniversary of Christ's birth with a National Jubilee Mass at
Birmingham's National Exhibition Center.
More than 400 bishops and priests concelebrated the Mass which is the largest such gathering
seen in Britain since Pope John Paul's visit in 1982.
The event was organized by the Knights of St. Columba, The Union of Catholic Mothers, The
Catholic Women's League, and the Catenian Society. Initial fears of lack of interest proved
unfounded with all 12,000 tickets claimed in the last few months.
