Apostolic Constitution Sapientia Christiana. Issued on March 15, 1979. John
Paul emphasizes the importance of Catholic universities in imparting instruction in
Christian wisdom so that people's lives and conduct might be formed and a higher culture
might be promoted.
On
the Vacancy of the Apostolic See and the Election of the Roman Pontiff
Universi Dominici Gregis issued on February 22, 1996.
On Catholic Universities
Apostolic Constitution Ex Corde Ecclesiae. Issued on August 15, 1990. It
states that a Catholic university has the honor and responsiblity to consecrate itself
without reserve to the cause of truth. This is its way of serving at one and the same time
both the dignity of man and the good of the Church.
Scripturarum Thesaurus
Apostolic Constitution of April 25, 1979, by which the new Vulgate edition of the Holy
Bible is declared "typical" and is promulgated.
Pastor Bonus
Apostolic Constitution of 28 June 1988,
which defines the competencies of various departments of the Curia,
to bring them into conformity with the new Code of Canon Law (1983).

the vicariate of Rome to bring conformity with the new Code of Canon Law

7 October 1982 - Pontifical Institute for
Studies on Marriage and the Family, at the Pontifical Lateran University, is
given juridical form.
