CARDINALS
Pope Paul VI created 144 Cardinals from many nations, making the
College of Cardinals more international than it had ever been. He
also set a limit of 120 to the number of papal electors, who must be
under 80 years of age. Among the Cardinals he created were his
successors, Albino Luciani (John Paul I) and Karol Wojtyła (John
Paul II)
