Dearest Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
I can't help but think about all of the remarkable things that Our Holy Father has accomplished for the Church. Truly, his life is one to be celebrated. I know that he will be missed, but now he has the opportunity to enjoy Everlasting-life with our Beloved--with our Risen Lord. I am sure that we have an intecessor in Heaven!
I also can't help but think about how much Pope John Paul II has been an example for us to follow. He has shown us that it is important to stand up for life--from conception to natural death--to be present to the youth of the world, to be present to those suffering, to be present to the least--to the one with who we would be least likely to converse--all because he was able to see CHRIST--to see God--in each person. What an example we have been blessed to live among in this world.
Now, this example does not need to die with John Paul II, it is something that we have all been called to do because Christ has commissioned each of us to continue God's work here. Let us go out and follow the Holy Father's example--let us welcome the least, to embrace the culture of life. Celebrate life and be Jesus for others!
