What a tremendous loss for us as members of the Holy Roman Catholic Church. As I wathched one of the Masses for the repose of his soul, I could not help but think that we, as Church, have lost someone and something very precious. John Paul reached out to more people than we have ever seen a Pope do before. He has brought God's love and mercy to a hungry world. He was not afraid to preach the Gospel, even though it was unpopular, he was not afraid to face agnostic governments, he was not even afraid to face and to forgive the man who tried to kill him.
What a tremendous model of courage and holiness! Truly, Pope John Paul II was a "man for all seasons". He has forever changed the face of Catholicism and I, along with so many others, Christian and non-Christian alike, will miss him terribly. ETERNAL LIFE GRANT UNTO JOHN PAUL, O LORD, AND LET PERPETUAL LIGHT SHINE UPON HIM FOREVER!
