I'm most grateful to God for our Holy father Pope John Paul II. The past twelve years I have written him regularly about the present American culture and society. I always wrote of my thanks for his exemplary leadership and his strong presence as our earthly- spiritual shepherd in our beloved Catholic Church. The Holy father would send me occassional cards with pictures and at times letters of acknowledgement. Over a period of years, I felt his presence in a greater capacity especially as he was suffering the loss of his health. The Holy father has encouraged me to pray and to seek to respond to Jesus' call in a greater capacity."Be not Afraid" are surely words that come from God for us who follow jesus in this life. I miss John Paul II. I'm eternally grateful for his courageous, prayerful, uncompromising commitment to the sacredness of all lifein all it's stages.I pray to continue in the commitments I wrote to him about.I ask the intercession of the Saints for his eternal joy in the Kingdom.
