Hi! I am not a Catholic, but I am a born again Christian for nearly 32 years. In my opinion, Pope John Paul II was one of the greatest ministers of the Gospel that God has given us to date. He not only reached out to Catholics that have backslid, but to other denominations and nondenominational Christians, agnostics, Mormons, Jews, Muslims, and everyone else who really did not know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. His travels was a testimony to his ministry of reaching out to everyone, and telling everyone the Good News of the Gospel of Christ. The injuries and illnesses he suffered was also a testimony of his deep faith in God and his tenacious ability to stay true to his walk in the Lord. He was also able to reach out to the young people under 20 years old, which has given all of us nonCatholic Christians something to think about in reaching these kids for the Lord. Pope John Paul has taught us a lot of lessons over the 26 years of his ministry, and his moral stands on homosexuality, abortion, and other moral issues was something for all of us to think about. I have totally agreed with him on those issues! I don't think there will ever be another person like him in our lifetime, and he is a great loss to all Christians around the world! We will all miss him terribly, but at the same time, we all know that he is in heaven with a new body, mind, and soul sitting at the right hand of God. We should celebrate that at least!
Me and my entire family offer our sympathies, condolences, and prayers to everyone in the loss of this great man of God. We are also praying that the Cardinals will be lead by God and His Holy Spirit as they prepare to nominate and vote for a new pope when they start their conclave on April 18. This should be done without politics and personality as this will hurt the very ministry of reaching out to those people who need Jesus in their lives. I know one thing for sure, you all; whoever is the new pope will have some huge shoes to fill because Pope John Paul II has truly raised the bar of the papal ministry to hew heights! Pope John Paul II will never be replaced, tho.
Be true to your walk in the Lord, and may God bless you all tremendously!
In the love of Jesus,
Chari Mercier :)
