Thank you God for sending us Pope John Paul II at this time in the history of humanity. From the courage he gave the oppressed to rise up against their oppressors; to his reaching out not only across Christian faiths, but to all peoples of all faiths; to his conviction to defend the fundamental moral values of Christianity in the face of growing hostility and aggression by the secular world and by many in the Christian world who feel the need to yield to pressures from modern trends, this man truly has been a miraculous gift from God. As a 47 year old who was raised Lutheran but had a Catholic parent, married a Methodist and am raising my family Methodist...I often relied on the moral direction, courage of conviction of Pope John Paul II when fighting the daily pressures of the secular world, even challenging my church leadership for not having the courage to publicly take stands on controversial issues such as abortion, euthanasia, (etc.) as Pope John Paul II did. I am grateful to have lived and witnessed this virtually God-like man. Pope John Paul II, I am sorry I never attended one of your events but in today's modern age of technology, sure enjoyed the coverage of your missions. I hope you enjoyed looking down at your funeral and seeing the magnitude of the impact you had on the hearts of humanity. I hope your soul is reveling in the heavenly joy of God, Jesus, your Mom, Dad and brother and every heavenly soul who has watched you in awe during your 84 year journey. Love John.
