Card D'Rozario was born 1 October 1943 in Padrishibpur, Bangladesh. He obtained a degree from Notre Dame College, Dhaka, and continued his studies in philosophy and theology at Christ the King Seminary in Karachi. He was ordained a priest for the Congregation of the Holy Cross on 8 October 1972. He specialized in moral theology at the Pontifical University of Leuvan, Belgium. He returned to Bangladesh and taught moral theology at the national major seminary in Bonani, Dhaka. In 1982 he was chosen as District Superior of Chittagong for his Congregation. He was appointed the first Bishop of Rajshahi on 21 May 1990. He was transferred to the Diocese of Chittagong on 3 February 1995. He presided over several Commissions in the Catholic Bishops' Conference of Bangladesh. On 24 November 2010, Benedict XVI appointed him Coadjutor Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Dhaka, and Archbishop of that diocese on 22 October 2011. He has been president of the Bishops' Conference of Bangladesh since December 2011.
