Cardinal Carlos Amigo Vallejo, O.F.M., was born on August 23, 1934, in Spain. He has served as bishop in Morocco. He was created a cardinal priest on October 21, 2003, and assigned the titular church of St. Mary of Monserrat of the Spanish. He was appointed Archbishop of Seville, Spain, 22 May 1982, from which office he retired 5 November 2009.
